2008 BMW International Open
The annual 2008 BMW International Open, a regular golf tournament on the European Tour will once again be held at the Munich Eichenried Golf Complex, where it has been based since it began in 1989. The course is situated to the northeast of Munich, just 20 km from the city centre.
Munich is the home city of tournament sponsor, BMW, and so is a fitting venue for the BMW International Open, a truly world-class event that attracts some 60 000 spectators and media representatives from all over the world every year.
The BMW International Open is one of the three events on the European Tour that are currently played in Germany each year, the other two being the Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe and the Mercedes-Benz Championship.
In 2007 the prize fund for the BMW International Open was €2 million, which is a mid-range purse for a European Tour golf tournament. More than 3 000 people are involved in the entire organisational effort that brings this tournament to life.
For the first time in 2007, the BMW International Open served as a platform for an ingenious golf teaching system known as Logical Golf, which aims to simplify the complexities of the game. In 2008, the system will again be demonstrated in the Public Area at the BMW International Open.
Tickets for the 2008 BMW International Open can be purchased online before the tournament begins, or on the day for all four days of the tournament. For more information you can click here, or visit the European Tour’s online shop to book tickets online.
