There have been four playoffs in BMW International Open history. Paul Azinger beat David Feherty in 1990 and also won his second title via a playoff, defeating Glen Day, Anders Forsbrand, Mark James and Bernhard Langer in 1992. In 1997 Robert Karlsson beat Carl Watts, while Henrik Stenson won in 2006 from Retief Goosen and Padraig Harrington.
José Maria Olazábal has scored the only albatross at the tournament, on the 11th hole in the second round of the 2001 BMW International Open.
A number of players have scored hole-in-ones on the course, including Thomas Bjørn, John Daly, Raphael Jacquelin and Andrew Colthard. Only one player has achieved this feat twice – Domingo Hospital, in 1994 and 1997.
The largest winning margin is five shots, set by David Feherty in the first BMW International Open in 1989.
Henrik Stenson won the 2006 title with an eagle on the first playoff hole.
