BMW International Open Logical Golf
The 2007 BMW International Open introduced for the first time the BMW Golf School stand in the Public Area at the Munich Eichenried Golf Complex and 2008 will see the return of this wonderful concept.
In 2007, golf lovers flocked to the BMW Golf School stand to learn how to unlock the hidden potential of their game with Logical Golf.
At the 2008 event, the team of golfing experts will once again be offering practical advice and information to visitors throughout all four BMW International Open tournament days.
Logical Golf is a very simple teaching system that has enjoyed worldwide acclaim and success since its inception in 2001. The concept takes the complex issues of the game of golf and simplifies them. Once the golfer “sees” the picture and understands how to improve, improvement comes much more quickly and easily.
Logical Golf emphasises the use of video cameras, as well as a wide range of novel and time-tested methods to help golfers “feel” the correct movements. Logical Golf helps players to understand “cause and effect” within their own golf swing. Hula-hoops, a modified golf club resembling an airplane, hammers and brightly coloured patches are just some of the items and techniques incorporated into this innovative teaching system, allowing students to remember correct movements visually.
“Logical Golf gives you a mental advantage to perform,” says MD Tim Holroyd. “When you truly understand the cause and effect of what happens in your swing, then you can translate it better into your game.”
The BMW International Open’s Logical Golf system is a comprehensive method based on three pillars: mental skill, physical fitness and technical ability, taking into account aspects from hand and arm action, to the use of the body, to the role of the legs and feet.
Founder Robert Baker has taught the principles of Logical Golf to five world number one players: Greg Norman, Nick Price, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Ernie Els.
